If you had asked about six months ago I would never have thought I'd be reviewing something like this but it totally fits the BRAIN BITES criteria so let's do this... NIGHT OF THE ANIMATED DEAD (2021) USA 1 hr 11mins  Director: Jason Axinn "Alright Vince, hit him in the head... right between the eyes." - Sheriff McClelland NIGHT OF THE ANIMATED DEAD is almost a word for word, scene by scene carbon copy of George A. Romeros NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)  except that it is animated. So setting the scene... Barbara (Katherine Isabella) and Johnny (Jimmi Simpson) arrive at the cemetery to lay flowers on their fathers grave. A ghoul attacks, killing Johnny and causing Barbara to flee to a nearby farmhouse. Ben (Dule Hill) soon arrives in a truck that is running out of fuel to get the key to the pump down the road.  THE NIGHT EATS THE WORLD (2018) France 1hr 33mins Director: Dominique Rocher "Dead is the norm now. I'm the one that's not normal" - Sam Sam (Anders Danielsen Lie) goes to his ex girlfriends to collect his last box of possessions from her apartment whilst she is in the middle of a house party. Brushing him off several times he eventually locates his stuff in a back room. After experiencing a blow to the face he has a nose bleed and promptly passes out. He wakes the following morning to an empty apartment completely trashed and covered in blood. He soon discovers that he slept through the zombie apocalypse as he is accosted by his ex in zombie form. He realises whilst watching others meet a grisly end trying to flee their building that he is best off where he is. So he starts off by securing the apartment building. He then has to find food, weapons, medical supplies and try to deal with life alone. He is not completely alone though... he has Alfred (Denis Lavant). Alf...

 On a similar note from the last installment and continuing the subject of zombies and music, particularly of the punk variety. One ghoul has recently come to my attention and I figured it was only polite to spread the virus as far as I can. So we here at BRAIN BITES feel it is only fair to infect you with... ROT!   DEAD SNOW 2: RED Vs DEAD (DØD SNØ 2) (2014) Norway/Iceland/USA/UK 1hr 40mins Director: Tommy Wirkola "I know it sounds like a cliche but that's what happened" - Martin "I have two kittens... don't hurt me!!!" - Glenn Inventive and entertaining director Tommy Wirkola is back, still channeling his inner Sam Raimi and with a bigger budget to bring us DEAD SNOW 2: RED Vs DEAD!! After a quick recap of the previous movie DEAD SNOW (2009) the sole survivor Martin (Vegar Hoel) escapes Herzog following a vicious fight in the car where Martin manages to sever Herzogs right arm letting it fall into the foot well of said car. Falling asleep at the wheel he crashes and wakes up in hospital. The recap shows the fact that in the first movie Martin was forced (in true Ash Williams style) to cut off his own right arm with a chainsaw.  DEAD SNOW (DØD SNØ) (2009) Norway 1hr 32mins Director: Tommy Wirkola "How many films start with a group of friends on a trip to a cabin with no phone signal??" - Erlend "We should have gone to Sunny Beach, like I told you!!" - Roy A group of medical students head to a cabin high up in the snowy mountains of Øksfjord for a little rest and relaxation before their exams. The cabin belongs to Vegard (Lasse Valdal),  his friends Roy (Stig Frode Henriksen), Erlend (Jeppe Beck Laursen), couple Martin (Vegar Hoel) and Hanna (Charlotte Frogner), Liv (Evy Kasseth Røsten) and Chris (Jenny Skaulan) leave the car and walk to the cabin.  This is it undead fiends... month 2 of my SEND MORE PARAMEDICS reviews and we are onto the album that cemented the band firmly into peoples minds.
